history of ohio

Ohio was first settled around 13000 BC. Soon different Native Americans settled. In mid 18th centery europeans started the fur trade with the Native Americans. They mostly traded along the Ohio River. Ohio soon had many eropeans living in the area.

In  December of 1801 Ohio's population reached 45,000 people. On March 1, 1803 Ohio became the 17th state to join the United States. After Ohio became a state there was not allowed slavery. Pre Civil War Ohio decided to stay with the Union and to be aggainst slavery. Post CIvil WarOhio became a major industrial state, which allowed people to have jobs.
